What's New?

So many wonderful things happening in the world around me.  I am so happy to have friends that invite me to go on trips to Jerusalem, to join belly dancing classes, and to just be playful.  I sometimes wish there were 2 of me so I could do twice as many fun things in a day!!!

Happily, my journey for today was booking my hubby for a flight to Seattle from Tucson.  We are planning a trip to Washington this summer, and Tori and I are joining my good friend in Eastern Washington.  Being a dear, Merritt declined that part of the trip and will join us in Seattle to visit long time friends from Shanghai, the Dominican Republic and from our previous lives when we lived in Poulsbo.  I am SO looking forward to this time.  I am so fortunate to have wonderful friends in so many places, an understanding and supportive husband and the means to travel!  (Plus, Tori and I get to do a bit of a road trip!)  I love my life!

A Year of Change

Today marks the one year anniversary of so many major changes for our family.  One year ago my step mom passed away.  Fortunately I was in Arizona with my sisters and could easily go be with my dad.  We had just spent a day visiting our mother, who had passed away 10 days earlier.  As I view the beginning of 2011, with the challenges that friends and family face, I am grateful for my journey.

Fun day in the Wadi

Had an outstanding adventure with friends Rick, Laurie and Marcia today.  We hiked 2 different wadis (canyons) near the Dead Sea.  The terrain was breathtaking, the mud squishy, and the water warmer than the shower I had today.  It is amazing to think it is the end of July and I was romping around in my Keens, yoga pants and a t-shirt!  What an amazing day it was!  I also am so proud of myself for hiking, climbing, trekking and even picnicking on a rock in the sunshine.  Thank you for today!

Enjoying Dinner with a Friend

How wonderful to make time to go to dinner with good friend, Merrill, tonight.  We ventured to Gilbert & Gambini for a lovely glass of wine and dinner.  We have not spent REAL time together since we travelled to Lebanon last fall.  It is important to spend time with friends, good friends, people you can be yourself with! Love you, Merrill!

Starting a blog...hm...a bit self serving, but that is OK. I am working on taking care of myself, so that is all OK! I am hopeful that I will love posting pictures and quips here, so folks can follow some of my adventures.
